when I started this boatbuilding hobby, back in May 2002, I wanted to buy everything locally (epoxy, glass, tools, etc).

It´s been hell...I cannot face another hardware store salesman tell me that spokeshaves don´t exist or that all wood glue is white. Now I plan ahead and buy everything I need on the internet, from people like leevalley.com . I have it shipped by surface mail, which takes two months, but is very cheap. Often, I end up paying less money for a good thing than I would pay locally for ****.

My best e-buys have been a Dozuki and a rabbet plane. The epoxy is shipped directly from System3 (also surface mail).
