Hugo, this is down the line but it's something that made sense to me at the time. I believe the Tern coaming comes together to a peak at the front. There's no functional reason for that feature other than a consequence of a two piece coaming coming together at an angle. I don't particularly like sharp angles under skirts as it provides a spot for skirts to wear holes if things are dumped there like rescueing kayaks or if the kayak is rolled over on hard surfaces it's a wear point. Ok, so I'm obsessive. On the Coho I made the the tops of the spacers were filled up and filed down to give more of a round over to the foreward peak before the coaming went on. The filled area was about 6" x 3/16" at the thickest tapering out.
