: I need a quick cheap solution! I'm going to launch my latest effort this
: weekend, and I need to figure out how to rig the seat back so that it can
: be moved to the alternate position. I designed this yak to be used by a
: parent and one or two kids, and the adult seat has two positions,
: depending on who else is in the boat. The cockpit has a simple 1/4"
: thick coaming that extends above and below the deck. Maybe a clevis pin
: epoxied into the coaming just below the deck, with a grommet installed
: into the back band? I don't want to get hung up on these when they're not
: in use. I suspect someone's got a better idea! Thanks! Steve
I used Nicks Method (in his book)to put in a seat back, however I 'modified' it, by using a single webbing strap to attache the seat to the cheek plates. THis strap is a loop that is ajustable with the buckle.
If you make the rear upper connection adjustable, you could move the seat backing a few inches at least. IT would be a bit of fiddling, but only a few minutes.
The lower part is again from Nick's book, but I attached it with Velcro, so I could move it too.
good luck
