Don't have a source for you, at least not yet. But I too have been looking for these types of hatches. I did a short search yesterday for Kajak hatches and found that if they don't seem very expensive, then I think it's just a replacement rubber cover. It seems that there are many places that sell just the replacement lid.

Hopefully someone will give us a supplier for the base and lid. I have been thinking about attaching foam to the rubber lid and carving it to match the underside curve of the deck. Then epoxy the wood hatch (cut out from the deck) to this foam or foam/fiberglass combo and drop in enough spacers to have it come out flush with the deck. Drill a finger hole or trim the wood back to leave a small gap around the hatch, and you'd have a snap on/off wood hatch lid. I'm sure that if this sounds totally useless, someone could set me straight, explain to me that I'm thinking too much, or just have me take my medication. ;)
