I used the 5 oz cloth with Raka slow hardner the deck of my King. The weave problem is there, big time. Fortunately the kayak is clear pine and the pattern isn't too bad except over the redwood trim where it looks bad. Warm climate, San Diego. No more 5 oz. in my shop, the small price difference isn't worth the substandard results. Used Raka 6 oz on the hull and it is fine. As we say down here, "If you can see the bad stuff, you are obviously standing too close. Please step back a bit."
