I'm getting ready to build a layed-up carbon/s-glass coaming lip. I will be using Vaclav's method. My question is for anyone that have used this method for their coaming lip, that also has a cockpit recess.

The composite lip follows the curve of the deck around its perimeter. This is all pretty clear to me, till I get to the recess area at the front of the coaming which does not follow the downward slope of the rest of the deck. How does one handle this transition?

I hope my first attempt with Photoisland works, so you all can see what I mean.
