s vs e

I'll second that about s-glass. I just did a boat and tried 4oz and 6oz s- glass. I did a mixture of s and e because I read that s will not wet out clear. I can't tell the difference between s and e and would probably use s for the entire boat next time. Also orderd from John Sweet and was very happy with the product and service.

: I keep hearing all this negative stuff about s-glass but I wanted to use it
: anyway. I talked to JR Sweet about using s-glass. He told me it handles
: exactly like e-glass except that the 4 oz has twisted yarn and takes a
: little longer to saturate. He also explained that all glass has a shelf
: life and must be stored properly. I have a feeling the problems people are
: having is from old product being used.

: I ordered my s-glass from JR Sweet and he cut it from a new roll. My
: observations: S-GlASS DOES INDEED HANDLE EXACTLY LIKE E-GLASS, with no
: weave showing after wetout. The twisted yarn does take a little longer to
: go clear than non twisted yarn but, so does the twisted yarn of the
: E-glass I used on my deck. I see no reason to not use s-glass on the
: entire boat, especially on thin strip (3/16) kayaks. I think it pays to
: buy glass from reliable sources that move a lot of FRESH product. I too
: have tried Raka glass and did not care for the quality and they would not
: put it on a roll, it came folded. I do however like Raka epoxy.

: Just my .02,
: Larry C.
