Hi Scott, it's 3.2oz satin weave from www.RAKA.com I used two layers inside and out with an extra layer on the football and it seems very strong and light too. It has good clarity without any gotchas. I have a few spots where the weave shows but that was from too much squeegeeing. Overall I am very pleased with it. Multiple layers can be more of a hassle because any bumps, dips, etc. in the first layer can cause bubbles in the second. The layers start to add up too; nine on my boat if you count top, bottom, inside and out.
I don't really know why more builders don't sheath their hulls in CF. You've heard the arguments: excessive heat, brittleness, expense... and figure you won't be saving much weight if you are using a 5.7oz fabric. I would like to try it but it's not very high on my TBD list.
