Ah! But newspapers print things that are verifiably false all of the time! It just happens that in this case they are printing what was given to them by the Pentagon... (Still, it's hard for us to verify it!)

snopes.com is a great place to check up on questionable stuff. I went there and searched for 'dolphins' which led to some senator's site which led to the pentagon which led to...
