Tom,we've discussed this all before. In my opinion you're bitting off a tough piece.
The reason that we all build in wood or wood glass composits is that it's suitable for backyard one-off construction. Glass,Kevlar,carbon fiber epoxy laminates are difficult,time consuming and almost demand multiple people to complete. In the time that it would take to make a plug (male) mold you could complete a hull using other methods.
If you'd like to read about the process get "Building Your Kevlar Canoe" by James Moran.
And remember, all the big 'glass and plastic paddleboat manufacturers have a one-off facility to make and test their new hulls. These hulls are usually strip-built even tho' many of these folks know 'glass-laminate technology inside out.
