Since I'm busy as a three legged cat at a dog fight, and premature senility is relentlessly rearing it's ugly head, it's taking me a little while to get anything done. I've made a little more progress on a strip built I designed using Ross Leidy's KayakFoundry. This is a great little program for those who want to try their hand at designing their own kayak. After playing with the program a little more I continue to be impressed. I've discovered that I can even design a wineglass sterned kayak on it...which is another project down the line a bit. The only caution I will give if you use this, or any other program, is to go slowly, test, visualize, and be sure you are drawing what you want. No matter how much experience one has one can make a mistake by getting in a hurry. What I did was get a little more concavity near the stern than I wanted. This was easily corrected by eliminating form #14 and continuing onward. This is a wide kayak and appears to be just what I was going for. I'm anxious to get finished.
