If you're willing to pay $0.50/disk or more, I'd like to become your preferred vendor!

The brand I use (can't remember the name) come from Scandanavia (Sweden I think). They're production-shop quality -- read heavy cloth backing -- and don't gum up badly. They're even a nice pink color. I buy 'em in boxes of 50 for $12 - $18 a box, depending on grit. The only catch is that you can't get them at Home Despot, you gotta find a good woodworking specialty store.

I change out a disk as soon as it shows the first sign of dulling. If I paid HD prices for them I'd go broke...
