The skirts Reg made were glued together, went together quickly, and used very simple jigs (a piece of 2x6, as I remember). Some of this was captured on the R2K2 video (see the RedFish site for more on that). Seeing as Reg uses these skirts often, I'd say they probably work well. You should try contacting Reg for more info. He haunts these sites occassionally, but someone here might be able to get his address. It is quite likely that skirt making would fit right into a boat building class.
