I was thinking the same thing. It's not worth cleaning. The fumes, mess and cost?? II buy one or two pumps every time I order epoxy. Most of the time they gum up do to evaporation and the mechanism (ball and seal) don't move easily.
You can put them in a plastic bag and into the microwave for 20 - 30 seconds to revitilize them . I know, metal springs - I do it and my house hasn't blown up yet.
