What seems to be the most common type of foot braces used in sof kayaks? I was going to try and come up with a cross bar type of foot brace but I had these short cuts of red oak lying around and so this is what I came up with for foot braces. They are hinged to the first heavy arched deck beam in my deck and fold up completely out of the way between the first and second arched beam.Also, they do not rub the skin anywhere. I backed them up with a stop behind and pegged them through my floorboards. They are 2.5" wide.
