Hey Ken,
I'm new to kayak building myself. I went with the Waters Dancing Solstice 16XL. Did a lot of research and this company came with the most complete kit. Plus the added advantage of saving money on the US to Canada dollar difference.
I'm about your size and this boat came highly recommended. Have been taking pics of my progress but have yet to post them. Check out the link for Waters Dancing.
