for others as you have some:

those stamped metal serrated scissors from acme for abt $5 will work. but for long i don't know as some do deflect a bit.
searching under 'kevlar scissors' will give some for abt $20. i think sweet has some for abt that.
just bought some olfa scissors($28 canadian) (serrated) that work great on small tests so far.

the serrations seem to make the diff.
