When reading my comments, bear in mind that I've never been to an R2K, and there are a lot of obstacles to my coming this year. But I am planning on it, enough so that I've booked a campsite at Fort Flagler.

Group campsites would seem to me to be a good way to go, if not this year, then in future. I've been to a few and they have all been very pleasant - big enough for plenty of people, and a bit removed from the rest of the campground, which was nice. (I've seen enough bad behavior at public campgrounds to make me leery of them.) Of course, I don't know how large this gathering is supposed to be. Is room for 60 too small?

I'll probably stick with my campsite at Fort Flagler this year and "test the waters" of the R2K3 experience. But if it is as fun as it sounds, I'm hoping that those in charge can put something together for next year. It sounds as if one determining factor might be getting firm commitments from people prior to making reservations, which would seem to call for money in advance.

If some people want to camp, and some want hot showers and soft beds, maybe two or more choices in the same vicinity would be good - a "cush" option and a "rustic", with everyone meeting at one location. I guess it would tend to fragment the group, but it might make booking accomodations easier.

That's my 2 cents (which are probably worth far less - like I said, I've never gone; what do I know?)
