Hello all, Since the Qajak site is unavailable to me for a couple of days now I guess I'll ask here. I am at the shrink it and coat it stage of my sons 14' 11"x23" Sof. We are both pretty excited about getting it finished up for the spring, Yeah 4 inches day before yesterday. Water temp is 39 deg. Balmy I guess if you have all the right equipment. Anywhooooo...
Can someone give me a manufacturers name or know of the best type of polyurethane to coat Nylon?
After a trip to the local Home despot, I was thoroughly confused. I would like a water based product but they said they thought it only came in the interior grade.
I will use whatever product works. ie. doesnt peel off and cause problems.
Then I hear mumblings of the deck finishes, which ones?
The reason for all the uncertainty is it is for my son. I am not worried about the skin or the frame, but it sure would suck if we got to paddling and the finish started to fail.
I am not looking for someone to underwrite or endorse any particular product I am looking for someone who has used a product that worked.
I Imagine as he gets better he will want another boat so it doesnt have to last forever, If you are familiar with my attitude towards things, make what you use, use what you make.
Thanks for your input, Elliott
