I've used two oil-based urethanes on my boats; ZAR satin urethane and Minwax Helmsman. The Zar is pretty clear, but yellows slightly with age. It's slow drying and very durable. The Helmsman is a nice amber color. It dries much more quickly, but seems to be more prone to chipping. On my next boat, I'll probably go back to the ZAR, perhaps with some pigment added.
