Clamping Foam Seats

I've found double-sticky carpet tape on the bottom of the seat will hold it pretty well to a piece of plywood. I then stand on the plywood or lean it against a wall. Like you say, you need to brace your arms or the grinder will snag on the foam and make a nice big divot.
