hatches in a front bulkhead make no sense, leave it open. Flush aft hatches can be waterproof enough. Putting bags through holes into reaches 6' away will make packing nearly impossible. When one packs a compartment it's PACKED,,you can't really make use of the space with a small acess hole at the end of a tunnel.
