Ditto on what Jeff said. I did the coaming on my daughter's Explorer with System Three tints in Raka Epoxy, Used glass, no carbon. The color is very translucent. Mine wasn't blochy, I did have a hard time matching batches though, so I did get a marble effect from the slightly different shades of epoxy.
If you use white as a starting point, then add color, you get more of a solid, paint-like coverage.
I'm not finished with the coaming yet, needs some sanding and fill coats, but I like what I have so far.
