You should have no problem at all...espcially given your experience with the strip guillemont and expirience with the canoe.

Check out the post right above, Shawn Baker, and Scott Ferguson build hybrids too. both have websites with info on the buildign process. (not sure if I spelt the names right)

I've built a habrid S&G Guillemot, I did make a web site, but it is off line right now. If you are really interested, I'll put my kayak portion of the site back up on Yahoo. I do intent to get it up in the next few months on my own site anyways, it is just that I no longer have internet at home, thus no pop up window free web site.

In short, all you need are the stations to fit inside the hull, to build the deck on top of. It is up to you to make these. for a CLC rounded off deck it is pretty easy. I'm not sure what is required for the squeedunk Coromont(sp?).

For the guillemot, I used Nicks S&G stations and rounded the corners off. If you choose Nicks design, consider adding an extra station around the 1st 1/4 of the cockpit, make this big enough for knee room. I did not, and the strips came back and down a bit to soon for my long shanks.

And now off topic:... I took the kayak out for it's second trip this weekend, for the first time on running water. I went through rapids approaching grade II. It was the Highlight of the weekend, the kayak performed well, as far as I can tell from my limited experince. I did not go swimming, or miss any required turns (that is I did miss all the big rocks/holes and the like). However it is definatly a Sea kayak, and not a white water play boat.

I'll post on the trips board when I get some pictures back from one of the parters.

good luck with your projects.

Myrl
