So by removing the top little bit of the split forms (2 each on the bow and stern on this design) I will not end up with strips that taper in too quickly to the internal stem?

: Hi Ethan, it sounds like you read KayakCraft. You have to remove that part of
: the station mold in order to make way for the stem. Right? The purpose of
: a station mold is to guide the strips. Well, the strips will ride snug
: against the stem so where would the mold go anyway. Some builders don't
: even bother with the end stations but I found them handy as a guide for
: shaping the stem.

: Here's a shot of my stern end-form. The breakaway seam is hidden behind the
: lower strip. You can see the tabs that hold the seam together though.
