Thanx for the response. Yup, cheek plates..hip braces I don't know the difference. Anyway, I'm attatching a seat back, back band? to them. Sorry for the wrong terminology 
I ended up making them long enough to bond to the cockpit floor, once the halves are joined, Which, by the way, I just completed ten minutes ago!!Yahoo!! It's a boat!! I could cut them shorter if needed, but, I will probably leave them as is.
