Mike,

Glad to hear of other CSUF alums out there. Are you guys in the area? I just finished my MA in linguistics and am currently teaching two sections of English 1 at CSUF. I have lots of free time right now and am hoping to fill it by building my first kayak.

Thanks for the info on the ROS. I was pretty much thinking the same regarding the brand. I found a Makita at Amazon for $59 that was apparently named Popular Woodworking's Tool of the Year for 1999. I guess it must be good enough for me then.
