: That looks like a great way to secure the temp forms, Kurt. I have never seen
: an internal strongback inside a S&G hull. Very nice. With sheerclamps I
: don't think it's necessary, but without them your method looks perfect.
: The deck stripping looks sensational! That is going to be one nice boat
: once completed. Looking forward to launch pics.

The front strongback is simply a 2x4 that is wedged into the bow and screwed to a full size rear bulkhead "form". I used a level to level the 2x4. I had to cut away some of the 2x4 in the cockpit area. The rear strongback is attached to the back of the rear bulkhead and wedged into the stern. Surprisingly, the "forms" did not require attachment to the shear. I thought about nailing or stapling through the shear, but once a few strips were added, it was stiff enough. To avoid taping the sharp angles of the internal shear, I added small shear clamps except in the cockpit area. I'll attach the deck and hull next. My work on the kayak has slowed because I'm simultaneously building a Merlin solo canoe, but it won't be long before launch.
