Tom,

For all my respect for aviation I can't help noticing some other interesting craft in the foreground...
Can it be taken apart?
I'm intrigued by the connection between the deckridge and the last station as it seems to lack the bulging reinforcement the penult has at the bottom of its top leg. Or are the deckbeam and the station both kerfed to interlock?
The bottom stringers show an angular shape towards the aft part of the boat.
Are they ash or pine-spruce-fir?
Are the L-fittings connecting stations to stringers made of Dural, steel?
Are they snugged into cavaliers?

Eric

: Armin,

: Just before posting this, I saw Eric's post. Hey, that's my barn !
: The aluminum rudder tail section is from a CH-701 "Factory
: Workshop"
: sheet metal class my son and I attended a couple of years ago at the
: factory in Mexico, Missouri. The other aircraft wing / tail section
: is a Fisher FP-202, and the R/C electric sailplanes are my designs or various
: kits.

: The Zenair Workshop is a great way to get familiar with sheet metal /
: riveting.
: The process is very straight forward. Plus you get to test ride / fly the
: CH- 701 STOL. Unbelievably short take off and landing ! It may look ugly, but
: it flies beautiful.

: We live on 60 acres, with a flat stretch of over 1500 ft.
: If I ever take a break from building kayaks, the CH-701 is next.
: With a folding kayak in back, the skies the limit. (pun intended)
