I hear ya. My comment regarding buring the thing if I didn't like the way it handled, was just a joke, but the test paddle will determine how much time I'll spend finishing it. I figure for water proofing it, if I like it, I will apply a couple coats of colored epoxy and leave the nylon skin natural (varnish). The skin may only wrap over the sheer by a few inches and then I'm considering a solid deck, either stripped or ply or ?? I don't know. The hard deck will allow me to have a recessed cockpit/coaming and gives me a surface to mount things to, like a drink holder, paddle park, rod holder, soft thru-deck fittings, etc... Any additional ideas?
