Hi Ross, I was afraid this would happen. It's all in the interpretation. I have posted a link to the CCG info on liscencing and HIN's. My brother who works for the auxiliary CCG says that the first paragraph concerning weight, length and motor is what determines the necessity for a HIN or not. Since our canoes and kayaks are not designed to take a motor of 10HP or more, no HIN is necessary. Well, at least that's the way he interprets it and he is positive that he is right about this.

I don't want to start a fight here, just trying to set the facts straight. But then again, I (and my brother) may be wrong.
