: Hi everyone,

: the deck is glassed and filled. Time for some fotos and an update.

: first of all let me thank all those who insisted I should try beveld strips
: instead of b+c for my deck. WOW ! I had no idea I was so lousy at edge
: routing :)

: The graphic design is quite simple. All I wanted was to play with the shape
: of the deck, and draw attention to the various components and functions
: that make up a kayak.

: Let me take the opportunity to ask a question about patching my fillcoats. I
: used S3 medium and a brush. 99% of the area is good and ready for sanding
: and varnish, but here are some coin sized areas I missed, and also a
: cluster of tiny pinholes near the stern. No idea what caused the latter.

: How do I clean this up ? I donīt want to recoat the entire deck, so the plan
: is to sand (coarse), patch with epoxy ONLY the affected area, sand again,
: and do a final skim coat. I believe Rob Macks once posted this suggestion,
: but cannot find the post.

: Could I possibly leave the last skim coat off ? I would very much like to,
: but donīt want the boat to look patchy in the end...

Looks very nice Pascal. I like the manio and rauli combination. You are a fast worker. You have caught up to me.

I am not sure of the proper procedure on the touch up. When I did my fill coats I noticed a subtle low spot on the deck and put a local coat on it. Though it looks patchy now, it will be flush after sanding.
