: Scott,
: Very Nice work ! You are to be commended for your creativity.
: The lines are quite pleasing, especially for a 13 footer.
: One thing I've found over the years is just how easily driven
: a short kayak can be. Though not as fast, but cruise can be maintained
: with little effort. Tracking isn't as critical since it takes so
: little effort to course correct on a short waterline.
: Backrest - Would it be possible to open up the backrest cross section, and
: add another slightly aft of the Center of Balance (LCB) ?
: Tom
Thank You, Tom for the pat on the back. It means alot to me (an SOF rookie) coming from someone with your extensive past building SOF's. And, yes I can cut out the top portion of the form to move the seat back. In fact, I found that I'd really like to beef up the backrest form anyway. The seat is just a 1" pad (T100 minicel foam) that fits between forms and is very comfortable. I could even cut the bottom of that form so that I'm not sitting on it. If I don't mess up the plastic too bad when I make the cuts, I should be able to try it out again to fine tune the seat location. Thanks again for your input, I'll let you know how it goes.
