What area of NZ do you live? And what design are you planning to make? It is well worth posting on the e-group mentioned above as the collective experience on it will help you down the track as well (just like this bulletin board is a mine of information). Another suggestion – have you tried your local kayak club? I was amazed at the latest KASK Symposium that 16 of the 91 kayaks there where homemade in one method or the other. There is bound to be a stripper near you as they becoming more popular here. I am currently updating the NZ Kayak Building site so keep checking it.
