I'm no expert, having only built one boat (well okay, two boats simultaneously). I can say that the Raka epoxy sanded well, and did not gum up the sandpaper. I would be interested myself in knowing how hard it gets compared to other brands.

But make no mistake about it: no epoxy was gonna stand up to the abuse we dish out to our boats. River limestone is roughly equivilent to 30-grit sandpaper (if that smooth), and oyster reefs are like minus 50-grit. Nothing short of metal or bullet-proof Kevlar is gonna keep us from having to replace sacrificial glass from time to time. Methinks it is just something we learn to live with in the wooden boat business on the Texas gulf coast.
