I agree that trapped air is the problem here because you can see the bubbles form at the cloth's surface, not at the surface of the resin. I did use a dry brush to smooth out the cloth, perhaps that could have incorporated some air. Also the wind was kicking up and blew the cloth a couple of times before I got it to lay down good. Hmmmmm that's a definate possibility now that I think about it. Well, this weekend I 'glass the inside of the deck with Raka 5oz cloth, which I WAS going to use on the outside, but decided with all the resin problems I'm having I had better go with easier to wet 6oz on the outside and do the hard stuff on the inside.
Well, we will see what happens this weekend. I'll just be glad when all this epoxying is done and I can paddle this thing. I'm also anxious to varnish it and see what it's going to look like without all the sanding scratches. I wetted it down with water last night and it looked pretty good. It seems I will have some milky spots that I'll just have to live with.
For now I'll take Rehd's advice and not tell anyone where the bad spots are and maybe they won't notice.
