: 1.) Is it easy to pull your foot off of the footrest and depress the pump's
: plunger?
Yes
: 2.) Do you have any on going trouble with the plumbing of the pump?
No I kept it very simple. I mounted the pump just about flush with my foot pegs so it is an easy pivot. I mounted the pump almost vertical, the intake is just off the bottom of the kayak, the outtake needed a 1.5 inch extension to reach the desk. I made a nice tethered walnut plug that blows off when I pump. The very amount of water left in the cockpit doesn't affect anything and I don't mess with hoses trying to get the last drop from the absolute lowest point.
: 3.) Someone asked about entrapment around the cuttout area. Has this been a
: problem?
No Mine is mounted on the bulkhead with a board with T-nuts recessed so I can take the pump out easily if I want. I don't wear foot gear with laces, straps or other snaggers any way. Those can catch of pegs alone. If you foot can go in somewhere and you wear appropriate foot gear, it can come back out.
: 4.) Would you have done anything different?
I would have made my mounting board a little lighter in weight. The minimum for no flex. I overbuilt mine the first time.
