: A friend and I were talking about the application of carbon fiber in musical
: instrument design. I mentioned that I had planned to use it in my Cirrus
: (as Vaclav recommends) and he questioned the reasoning behind using it.
: According to this friend the only advantge to using CF is if you can have
: it under extremely high pressure as it sets. He said there was really no
: structural advantage to using CF over glass unless you had the means to
: apply such pressure.
: Any thoughts?
: Thanks, Dave
are you refering to Carbon fiberglass, or the carbon powder you mix with Epoxy?
I'm not famillar with Vaclav's instructions, but normally I see the filling powder being refered too. Your discussion seems to refer to the carbon cloth, which I'm sorry, I know nothing about.
I'm am intersted in others opinions on mixing in the carbon powder with epoxy. Although It is almost to late for me, I'm going down stairs right now to do a final touch up with the sanding block and to put the 'goop' on. I'm going to run up and see if anyone is out there, and has resonded.
If I've changed the topic on you, my appologies in advance.
cheers,
Myrl
