Re: Spell what...
Lots of things, when you can't spell wirth a darn, sometimes you get it right, and it still looks wrong. I should go find my dictionary one day.

I agree about the harder = more slippery when sliding over the sharp rocks. I was thinking somthing different when I read a past post. I guess that stuck, at the time when I was thinking slippery, I was thinking more in the terms of lubrication. I guess I was not thinking at the time, and the memory just stuck.

As for my complaining about the snow, I was not really complaining (at least not to much). Sometimes it seems the grass is always greener on the other side. I'm not sure if that is true for me or not, all covered in snow here ;)

I'd have liked to have got some skiing in, we have some pretty nice local hills, but I need to stay close to home for the next few weeks.

Anyways I think I supposed to talk about kayak building here, and not be blathering on about the weather and skiing... I got the first coat of the black stuff on the bottom of the yak. Went well, execept for the drip that landed on the edge of the deck. The Deck was freshly sanded so I could not just wipe it off, but nothing major, I'll sand it off later in the week prior to varnishing the deck. The first coat went on nice and thick, and seems to have good coverage. I was going to use a thin foam roller to apply it , but ended up just smearing it on with a stick, then leveling it out with a foam brush.

I got 9 pumps from the West system on the hull (guillemot S&G), with the coverage comming just around the chine by about 5/8ths of an inch. I'm not sure if that is a really thick coat or not. If I'm still awake, I'll put another on tonight around 11:00 or so. That will have to do for this summer, I'm not sure I'll have enough epoxy to get a thrid coat on or not. Either way I want to have this puppy varnished ASAP. I'm not sure how much time I'll have once JR gets here.

Merry Chrismas every one.... doh... snow and epoxy fumes seem to have me a bit confused, but the thought is the same.

Myrl.
