Alex, you may want to post the question on the the Greenland Kayak link on this forum. If you tell them what kinds of woods you have locally they would love to help.If you tell what state your in that also helps for finding suppliers. Willow used to be a lesser wood that furniture and cabinet makers would only use where it did not show, drawer sides, a local cabinet maker may have a supply. Our local Home Depot carries it for paint grade trim.
