If anything, I would make the rear hatch lip stronger than the front. It's a larger hole and a flatter surface. Both require more strength. Also, that part of the deck can be subject to some large loads on reentry practice. It has to stand up to you crawling all over the top of it. If you lose the lip while trying to perform a self rescue, and you don't have float bags in the compartment, you are in big doo doo. Now if you only weigh 110, it's not as big an issue than if you weigh more like 230. So build accordingly. Even six layers thick, hatch lips don't weigh very much.

: rear hatch (in fact I just put the second coat of release on the hatch.)
