When I made the hatch lips for my Cirrus I followed
the instructions in the manual. (There is a version
of this at http://www.oneoceankayaks.com/Wshophtm/Shop19.htm)
To keep the layup from sticking to the deck I bought some
clear shelf paper. This stuff is great! The back of it
is just sticky enough to stay in place on the deck, and
the face is slick enough that the cured epoxy pops right
off.
