I just finished building one for me and my daughter and had it out on the water on Sunday, briefly.

I have never paddled a double before, so I can't really compare it to another. Overall, I was very happy with it. It was fast and responsive. My daughter didn't really contribute to paddling, and I was able to easily outpace my wife who was in my Guillemont (to be fair, she is a novice).

I used the rudder I installed a bit, but when I put it up it tracked well even in moderate wind. My daughter didn't want to swim, so I didn't really have an opportunity to test its stability.

Overall its a fast boat with clean lines. I really didn't want something as big as the Chesapeake or Pygmy doubles, and it was a nice choice.
