don't do it. If you had a 2,000lb sailboat it wouldn't be a bad idea but on a 45lb kayak you're putting on LOTS of epoxy to soak up those fabrics for no structural purpose. Since kayak spend most of their time floating than scraping it's worth putting the materials where needed for floating then put it precisely where needed for scraping. PRECISELY,,so a few lbs of extra epoxy soaked dynel on the bottom of a hull is not precise when most of the wear is on a 1/2"x6" strip,,,and even then cloth is not the best abrasion strip at that area. If you want abrasion resistance and structural benefits look to s-glass, for the money simply being neat and apply 4oz e-glass here and there as needed will the the most efficient method. Look through Nicks book for where to put the stuff.
Here's a good example,,4oz poly cloths will soak up more resin than 6oz glass, you could probably get two layers of 4oz s-glass and have more abrasion resistance and strength for the same amount of resin.
