For those followers of, and just plain interested in, the potential for serious surf riding with a kayak, I submit the following link. It's a brief interview/article about one of the original guru's of the sport, Merv Lawson. This piece is from the May 1970 issue of Surfer Magazine.

California grommets, like myself, looked upon Lawson as something akin to a space cadet until we saw him shred the lineup in any number of surf movies where the sacred Rincon point break became his play ground.
