Hi Eric,

No, I never deal in absolutes, any more than I deal in worse case scenarios,
so I'm not stating that it performs "exactly" like a hardshell any more than
I would claim it performs "exactly" like a traditional SOF non-folder.

In general terms, I am stating that at 17.5ft LOA X 22in beam and 32 lbs. it
has overall performance characteristics equal to hardshell or SOF kayaks of
similar dimensions and design. Also, I don't build using PVC tarps, I use PVC
coated woven polyester fabric. Due to the narrow chine spacing and the PVC
non-stretch characteristics,the skins don't go slack in the water.

The skins do go concave in the water, but that is a most desirable feature
of SOF performance, whether folder or not.

I will gladly send you the offsets for this design so that after actually
building one you will have a greater knowledge base of these unique kayaks.
