Thanks Kurt, thanks Scott. I will use these screw-posts (foreground) to connect wooden seatbacks and other accessories to that interior rail. They have almost no profile when they are countrer-sunk.

The drop-in deck would be a like the deck of a regular SOF tandem kayak... the frame would be covered with a lightweight nylon fabric and would also fit down along the rail. Right now it's still just an idea though.
