Risto is right! I learned (in a class setting) on an easy to roll WW kayak. Outside of class, I was rolling (trying to roll) a sea kayak that was 26" wide and "clunky". I could roll the "class" boat about 1 out of every 5 times, but couldn't get near rolling my own boat. That made it very difficult to practice outside of class, and killed my form and confidance. I ended up quiting (practicing, not the class) until I got a new boat that was more cooperative. Good, experienced "rollers" could roll my old boat, but new rollers couldn't.

Be sure to get competent in an easy to roll boat before moving to less cooperative boats.
