Hi Ken,

I've want to see how much of the wood would get through the Matt finish, but the reason I do not want Gloss, is to reduce the glare from the sun. (I've managed to snow strain my eyes (could not see for hours) as kid a few times, and I'm really sensitive to bright lights now) I'm going to try the kayak out as is first and see if I have trouble.
