: Easier: Drill a 1/2" hole.
: Coat the inside of the hole with unthickened, then thickened epoxy.
: Use a piece of 1/2" OD vinyl tubing. Coat the outside of the tubing with
: a little thickened epoxy and push it into the hole. Leave the tubing
: sticking out both sides until the epoxy cures, and sand the cold seam.
: The tubing keeps the wood in the hull from wicking up all the epoxy, and also
: keeps epoxy from running out and down the sides of the hull thanks to
: capillary action.
: Don't worry about the arc..use a slightly bigger cord, like Lee recommended.
: This should work before or after the end pour.
I did this on two boats, only on the second, I used vinyl surgical type tube got it at Home Depot. Did a micro end pour around the tube/mold, then removed the tube when the epoxy set.
As for a toggle, I am still using a section of 1" pvc pipe..looking for a better idea, worthy of a nice boat maybe something out of wood..? Any ideas?
thanx, Steve
